I guess it is kinda playable with Direct3D9, if I constantly have the flashlight on, but I would appreciate if any of you guys can share a solution to this problem. But I really have no other option than to run it like this. So perhaps that mode has something to do with this issue. I solved this with the DeusExe launcher, which comes with GMDX, by selecting borderless windowed mode. With base vanilla version there was also this other issue of the game immediately minimizing itself and doing it every time I try to restore the window. The issue was present in the vanilla version, but I am running this with the GMDX mod. Other renderers produce either the same effect as software mode, or the same as OpenGL mode. I tried googling "low colors", but that didn't yield any results. I'm not even sure how to describe it or google it. But when I switch to OpenGL, the game looks like this and runs terribly (fps constantly drops between 30). When googling about these issues, most people say that you just need to switch to OpenGL as a renderer. As some of you might know, the software mode of Deus Ex has depth issues (objects clipping through other objects, etc), while the Direct3D9 mode is pretty dark and the brightness does not adjust.
